Kleinsteuber successfully skirts the line between voyeurism and exhibitionism with her distinct portraits. The images are provocative; you see the influences of fashion, Warhol and alternative culture. The work is refreshingly accessible, yet the pleasure we take in viewing the strong bright colours and direct gaze of the subjects presented adds a tension that is, in a word, sexual.
